MEMBERSHIPS

We have three different types of memberships: Far North Early Childhood Network (FNECN) General Members; FNECN Community Partners; and Early Childhood Community Network (ECCN) Members. You can choose to be a member of one, two, or all three. Membership is free.

(1)    FNECN General Members
General Members are invited to attend and participate in FNECN meetings, to share and disseminate information to their workplaces and networks. Meetings are held online or face to face, four times a year (once a term) for 1.5 hours. The agenda consists of a Community update and a guest presentation. Attendance and agenda items can be submitted via the online R.S.V.P form.

​(2)   Community Partners
Our Community Partners are a core group, consisting of representatives from key stakeholders in early childhood services in far north Queensland. Our community partners incorporate a variety of children and family services stakeholders in Far North Queensland and comprises of positions within each of the following categories:
  • Adult Education and Training; 
  • Early Childhood Education and Care; 
  • Early years of Schooling and Transition;
  • Family and Community Support; 
  • Health and Well-being; 
  • Supporting Children with Special Rights;
  • Private Providers
  • Distinguished  Community Members
We acknowledge that keeping connected ensures we continue to build upon the strengths of our own and each other’s early childhood practice, Community Partners explore early childhood interests, strategic goals and plans and best practice in early childhood service provision. They unpack current local issues and explore ideas for action.

​Community Partners are required to meet face to face twice a year and attend all general meetings. If they are unable to attend a meeting, they must send a representative from their organisation in their place.  See Community Partner Positions (below)

(3)    Early Childhood Community Networks (ECCNs)
ECCNs are groups of early childhood practitioners and community members in locations across Far North Queensland. These groups collaboratively plan and implement activities and professional development across local schools, early years centres and community services.  ECCNs are co-facilitated by a representative from schooling and the early years sector and liaise with a FNECN Community Partner. ECCN members are welcome to become FNECN General members and attend FNECN meetings.​ For more information Visit the ECCN meetings page  for dates  and venues

Our community partners incorporate a variety of children and family services stakeholders in Far North Queensland and comprises of a select number of positions within each of the following categories:
