Context
- Why? Early intervention and community engagement recognises and acknowledges the significance of the early years and how we as a community play a vital role in supporting who our children are and are becoming.
- What? We aim to establish a culture of collaboration through community networks - with the intent of effectively addressing the health, education, and social/emotional well-being of children from birth to eight years and their families.
- How? FNECN provides links, through community partnerships, to the broader early childhood community, including ECCNS, to collaborate, empower and strengthen capacity of communities throughout far north Queensland.
- When? The 2008 publication, Building a Solid Foundation for School - a Communities Approach, informed the purposes and goals of FNECN, with its suggested formula (below), which includes the voices of children along with families, communities and schools as ways to enhance learning and development in the early years of school.
Ready Communities and Services + Ready Schools + Ready Families + Ready Children
=
Readiness for learning and development in the school years
